The Best Non-Toxic Products for Your Baby and Toddler

Welcome, mama. If you’re here, it’s because you care deeply about making sure your baby is as healthy as possible. You realize the importance of products that help your baby, not actively harm them. Unfortunately, our world has thousands of products marketed towards making sure your baby is healthy, but few products that actually do the job.

It’s important to make sure the products we use on our children are not just helping them on the outside, but also on the inside.

The majority of products in the U.S. (not just baby products) are filled with toxic chemicals and endocrine disruptors that are actively harming our bodies every single day. This is infuriating!

However, as mamas, we can make sure our babies AREN’T in contact with these chemicals and can choose products that are better for our sweet babies.

Here are the top non-toxic baby products and swaps you can make today to help your baby live a happy and healthy life:

  1. Honest

Honest is probably my FAVORITE company because they have all the basics and the quality is top-notch! We love using all of the body care products and exclusively use their baby wipes. We love their diapers, too! We just don’t use them as often because we’ve been gifted other brands. Their frangrance- free bubble bath and shampoo + body wash are both made without Parabens, Phthalates, Dyes, Synthetic Fragrances, Formaldehyde Donors, SLS/SLES. If you want to learn more about why it’s important to avoid these ingredients, you can read about it here.

Their diapers and wipes are also amazing and we use them daily! Their diapers are chlorine-free and so soft. And don’t even get me started on their wipes. Hands-down my favorite product of theirs. Their wipes are made without plastic, fragrances, parabens, and chlorine processing, and are made with over 99% water. And when your baby has a little diaper rash, you can use their Diaper Rash Cream or All-Purpose Balm.

And the best part about all these fragrance-free baby products? They are EWG-certified. So you know you are getting the BEST quality products for your baby with the BEST quality ingredients.

2. Babo

It can be so overwhelming to have to keep track of which products are okay for kids and which ones aren’t, that’s we LOVE Babo. They have a shampoo and body wash that not only is good for babies, but adults can use it, too! My husband and I love using this and it can always be found in our shower.

And yep, you guessed it… it’s EWG-certified, as well!

3. Wellements

My heart is so thankful for this brand. Our daughter just came down with her first sickness and it was heart-breaking to witness. She had it all — fever, body aches, congestion, cough.. It was rough. And praise God, truly, for this company. We knew that we could help her feel a little bit better because these products existed.

Wellements has all the medicine you could need for your little one — without all the additives, chemicals, and fake flavors. Our daughter loves the taste of these and took them without hesitation or tears. That’s a win in my book!

We use the Vitamin D drops every day when nursing, the cough syrup when she’s sick, and the tooth oil when those dreaded teeth come in. They also have gripe water, probiotic drops, and vitamins with simple and non-toxic ingredients to help your little one live their healthiest possible life.

I seriously cannot recommend Wellements enough!

4. Miss Mouth’s Messy Eater Stain Treatment

MAGIC. That’s the only thing I can say about this stuff. The toughest stains stand no chance against this stain treatment. Blueberries, strawberries, blood, dirt.. you name it, this stuff can get it out. And while it’s not EWG-certified, it has received a grade of “A” which is still great!

Side note - if you’re looking for a laundry detergent that is gentle on your baby’s skin, I recommend Molly’s Suds or making your own! You can find my go-to laundry powder recipe here.

5. Cornstarch

This isn’t a brand but this is such an easy, simple swap. Cornstarch is the main ingredient in baby powder and works as a great swap! Not only that, but by using cornstarch, you can avoid the fragrances and additives in baby powder, therefore it’s better for baby’s most sensitive areas.

Well, there you have it! The list could honestly go on and on, but these company’s and items are great places to start when you’re looking for non-toxic products for your baby. I’m so proud of you for caring so much about the health of your kid(s). I know it’s hard in the world we live in, but small steps can lead to BIG changes!
